Trying to find a cheap traffic school online? Be careful! Not all online traffic schools are created equal. A little bit further down in this article I’m going to show you a small list of online traffic schools you should choose from, but before I get to that, I want to explain how exactly to find a cheap traffic school online yourself.

24/7/365 Customer Support Is A ‘Must Have’

Why do you need round-the-clock assistance for online school? Think about it. All those nights you spent alone, cramming for finals. Can you imagine how much time you could’ve saved if you could just reach out to a mentor for clarification? You wouldn’t have to spend all night being stuck in a mental ditch. You might have even done better on your exams! And this is why it’s great to have an online school that offers 24/7/365 customer support.

But listen. Finding a cheap traffic school online really isn’t that hard. The hard part is finding one that is cheap but also provides quality service and support. A quality customer service department is a ‘must have’. Partly due to the “identity verification systems” that are in place.

Most states require various identity verification systems to be used as you go through the course to make sure that you are actually the one taking it.

A lot of times, these identity verification systems can glitch out and lock you out of the course because they think someone other than you is taking it.

The only way to get the course unlocked is if you contact the customer support team for whatever online traffic school you’re taking.

If the online traffic school you’re taking only has support M – F from 9 to 5, it could cause some issues and take things much longer to take care of than they should.

Also, be aware that many “certified” traffic schools online are run by a single individual out of their home. What happens if your completion certificate never comes or if the court gives you any problems? The customer support you receive could be from some dude in his living room. Other online traffic schools outsource their customer service to overseas call centers where nobody has actually ever driven a vehicle in the United States.

Trust me on this – make sure you’re taking your traffic school online from a legitimate company.

Make Sure They Have A Money-Back Guarantee

Any legit traffic school online will allow you to try out the course risk-free. In fact, some of them don’t even require payment until you take the final exam. This makes it pretty darn easy to check them out before giving them your money. If you ever come across a traffic school online that does not allow you to have this type of guarantee, be wary. Keep in mind, some states do require payment upfront due to state regulations, but you should still see guarantees proudly boasted on the site.

Check Their Online Reputation From Many Sources

Am I telling you that you shouldn’t blindly trust the recommendations I give you below? Absolutely! You should never trust anyone’s single review site and that includes websites such as Yelp. Online traffic schools are notorious for creating either fake positive reviews for themselves or fake negative reviews against their competitors. This is a highly competitive industry, so make sure you check several sources and read the reviews with caution – they may or may not be real reviews from actual customers. You can also check sites such as the Better Business Bureau, but even they have their faults.

Review Customer Satisfaction Ratings and Feedback

Another important source of information, and probably the most honest one that you can find, is customer satisfaction and feedback.

Most online traffic schools feature customer reviews on their websites, usually under “Testimonials” or “Customer Reviews”. They usually source it from their chosen customer review websites, usually TrustPilot or ShopperApproved (but there are others), but some also conduct their in-house reviews and have a dedicated page on their website.

Trust me, if this is the first thing you check on a traffic school website, you’ll get a lot of insight into how the school delivers its service.

Fine, these reviews can be filtered out to feature only the positive reviews, but the thing is, since these reviews are coming directly from customers, it’s hard to manipulate the data. And if you go directly to the customer review website, you’ll still see the unfiltered version.

Another thing you can pick up whilst checking on these reviews – their customer support’s response time and how they address customers’ concerns in real time. I’ve seen a few negative reviews that could have created a great impact on the school’s reputation if not for the timely and respectful manner in which the feedback was handled by customer support.

Customer reviews are a valuable source of information, so don’t forget to check them out before enrolling in an online traffic school.

My Top 6 Recommended Cheap Traffic Schools Online

Ok, so with all of this in mind, here are the online traffic schools I recommend. Not only are they cheap, but they have been around for well over a decade (most of them 2 decades), they all offer their own staffed 24/7/365 support teams, they have the fastest courses allowed by state law, and all that other good stuff. Take your pick!

  • iDriveSafely We’ve been recommending this online traffic school for a long time. They are owned by one of the largest online driver training companies in the country and offer fast courses with great customer service out of a legit office building in California. If I had to sign up for a traffic school online, this would be it.
  • Best Online Traffic School – The Best Online Traffic School is relatively new — much newer than the others on this list. However, newer doesn’t mean less established. It is fully accredited by California’s Department of Motor Vehicles and recognized by most insurance providers. It is affordable for its generous provisions, including 24/7 live chat support and auditory alternatives. With its diverse options, students can conveniently accomplish the course in an eight-hour time frame! PLUS, you can go through the course for FREE. You only need to pay to take the final exam.
  • Improv Traffic School This online traffic school is owned by the Improv Comedy Club chain. Instead of the same old boring traffic school course, they put a twist on it and made the course humorous. In addition, they offer great customer support, they are cheap, and the courses are as fast as each individual state allows.
  • DriversEd.com These guys have been around forever. They were basically among the very first companies to offer online driver training and their specialty is providing online driver’s education coursework for new drivers. However, they also have fantastic online traffic school courses approved in most states. They will verify your eligibility.
  • Go To Traffic School This is one of the most popular online traffic schools and for good reason – they guarantee to be the cheapest. While the course is slightly more outdated and their customer service isn’t as good as my other recommendations, they are fast and cheap. Those are the two things most people seem to care about most. So if you want the guaranteed lowest price, here ya go.
  • Aceable – This online Traffic School is probably the youngest here, with only around 10 years being in the industry. So far, they’re only offering traffic schools in 4 states (CA, TX, FL, IN, as of May 2021) but they’ve been receiving positive reviews and feedback from former students, this means there’s a high possibility that it will be available in more states sooner than later. So watch out, because so far, I think they have the freshest and most modern course materials!

A Few Tricks To Complete Your Traffic School Online With Less Hassle

Let’s be honest, taking traffic school online IS a hassle. You’re not doing this by choice, I assume, so don’t make this harder on yourself than it has to be.

For starters, get the course done quickly. Just like taking off a bandaid – get it done fast! Not only will you feel much better just getting it over with, but it can also take traffic schools up to 2 weeks to process your completion certificate. If your due date is in 2 days, well, you’ll need to pay some “expedited fees” to get your certificate sooner. If this sounds scammish, that’s because it is. But they all do it, so just get it done quickly.

Search for “online traffic school answers” in Google and find a traffic school that has the answers to the quiz and test questions already online. You can also take screenshots of each page of the course as you go through it so that you can go back and reference the material when you’re taking your tests. You’ll need to obtain at least a 70% or better (depends on the state) in order to pass. If you fail, you’ll need to pay for the course all over again. Thankfully, the tests and quizzes used in the courses I posted above are super simple.

So, good luck! Taking a traffic school online or in a classroom sucks, but online is much more bearable. Just get it done so you can move on with your life.
