San Francisco Online Traffic School Reviews

With nearly 700 online traffic schools approved in San Francisco (yeah seriously almost 700), how are you supposed to know which traffic school is best? Well, if you want to go to a classroom-based traffic school for some strange reason, you’re on your own. However, as a certified driving instructor who has created online training programs for commercial truck drivers, I have gone through and reviewed a TON of these online traffic schools, including online traffic schools that are specifically certified for San Francisco and California in general.

I know…. I can hear your thoughts. “Wait, this dude spends his time reviewing online traffic schools?”

Sadly, yes. It began innocently enough. I created the website Drive-Safely.net and made a little section reviewing online traffic schools. I never, ever expected so many people would be interested in those reviews. It was just incredible! So, I decided to create this site where all I do is review online traffic schools. Boring? Yes. Helpful for you? Yes.

Why Does It Matter Which San Francisco Online Traffic School You Sign Up For?

As mentioned above, there are nearly 700 freakin’ courses approved in San Francisco for ticket dismissal and point reduction purposes. That’s just insane. To make matters worse, the VAST majority of those are outdated, won’t work well on mobile / tablet devices, have virtually no customer service, and are probably run out of some dudes double-wide trailer. Other online traffic schools will SAY they are certified for San Francisco, but they really aren’t, so you waste hours of your time and get ripped off in the end.

But, here’s the main concern. A few years ago, the state of California removed timer requirements for online traffic schools! You see, several years ago, you were timed while taking the course and you could not complete the course faster than about 6 hours. This requirement was removed, and yet, there are still some online traffic schools that never got rid of those timers. So instead of completing your online traffic school in an hour, it would take you 6 hours. Ouch.

Which Online Traffic Schools I Recommend For San Francisco And Why

So, basically, I found all the LEGIT online traffic schools certified in San Francisco. What do I mean by legit? Well for starters, they need to have a proven operating history. The online traffic schools I recommend are those with a minimum of 10 years experience and over 1,000,000 “graduates” that have gone through the course before you (I prefer to call them guinea pigs). They also need to have 24/7/365 customer service, not some 9 – 5 crap. In fact, my top recommended online traffic school has a full staff of customer service reps 24/7 right here in California. I’ve been to their office personally. A good online reputation, including an A+ BBB rating, is also required. Ok, so let’s get into who the best online traffic schools are for San Francisco.

San Francisco Online Traffic Schools You Should Pick From

I’m all about having choices, so I’ve supplied you with several options below and described what makes them different. Pick one of these and you’ll be safe.

  • I Drive Safely – As mentioned above, this is my top-rated online traffic school for San Francisco. This is a real company with a real office (multiple offices, actually) with real programmers and people who know what they’re doing. They have a 24/7/365 U.S. based customer support team based right here in California, the course is mobile-friendly, more than 5,000,000 guinea pigs have already taken the course (including me), it’s the fastest course allowed by California law, it’s cheap, and they have a money-back guarantee. This course pretty much has everything you need in one package. If I were to sign up for a course today, this would be it.
  • Improv Traffic School – There’s no hiding the fact that traffic school is boring. As exciting as it may sound to learn about traffic laws and regulations, it really is just an awful experience. This traffic school began back in the ’90s when you could only take it in a classroom. This company realized how boring traffic school is and decided to put some stand-up comics into the classrooms and spice things up a bit. What company? The Improv Comedy Club chain, so yes, this is a real legitimate company based out of Hollywood. When online traffic schools became available over a decade ago, these guys jumped on it and began creating comedy-based courses online. Now, just a fair warning, if you find slap-stick comedy to be dumb or stupid in any way, you’ll want to steer clear of this course. This is best for those who have a goofy sense of humor.
  • DriversEd.com – This is the original online driving course and they’ve been around forever. Once again, it’s a real company that is actually based in California (compared to a lot of online traffic schools which are owned by Russians – yes Russians). They’ve had millions upon millions of people take their driver’s ed and traffic school programs across the country, including the state of California and more specifically San Francisco. This course has some really good graphics and it’s a bit more interactive than the others, so that helps the time pass. If you don’t like I Drive Safely for some reason and you also don’t like goofy humor, this would be a good option.
  • Go To Traffic School – This recommendation is for all you cheapskates out there, and I know there are a lot of you. Really, who wants to spend any more money than they have to for an online traffic school? Well, this online traffic school is not only certified in San Francisco, but they guarantee to be the cheapest online traffic school you’ll find. If you find one for cheaper, they’ll be the price. The only reason this isn’t a higher recommendation of mine is that over the years, they’ve had some issues maintaining an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. I have also “tested” their customer support team and I’m almost certain it is NOT based in the United States. They were very unhelpful. So, with the lower price comes to some trade-offs, but this is probably the cheapest course around that is still legit.
  • Aceable – If you’re looking for the fastest way for busy drivers to complete defensive driving or traffic school, Aceable lets you do that using your phone, tablet, or computer in just a few hours. As soon as you log into your account, their app progress tracker will automatically save your, well, progress, so that when you take a break, you don’t have to start again from the beginning.

Even though Aceable is very new, they are potentially the leading online traffic course provider. Why? Check their reviews and see how many satisfied customers they have served in just a few years. Students love their refreshing course materials that are the most modern that you can find. They also have an app well-received by both iOS and Android users, and a very reliable mascot, Ace, that will guide you through the entire course. Their customer service is superb! Not only are they available 24.7 through live chat, but you can also reach out to them through Aceable’s social media accounts.

So, there you have it. As a certified driving instructor who has created online driver training courses for professional truck drivers, those are my recommendations. Good luck and be sure to post in the comment section any feedback you have! It’ll all be over soon. 😉
