It’s just unbelievable!
Avoiding the Scams & Why You Should Care Who You Sign Up For
These online traffic schools can be really, really shady. Some of them tack on additional fees at the end (which of course you’ll say yes since you just spent hours completing the damn thing), others will SAY they are certified when they are not, some provide zero customer support – it’s just insane. These “customer service” reps are just trained to read scripts. It’s painful. I vet any online traffic school I recommend. I know who owns them, I know where their office locations are, and in some cases, I’ve even had a personal tour of the facility. I live in California so this isn’t as difficult as it sounds, especially when they find out I’m the guy that owns this website.
- State Mandated Minimum Time Requirement – One thing that’s awesome is several years ago, the state of California removed all requirements for course timers to be used, including online traffic schools for Fresno courts. Several years ago, the course would be timed and you’d have to spend nearly 7 hours going through it. These days? You can get it done in an hour. Yet, some online traffic schools are so outdated, they still have these timers on them! I only recommend online traffic schools without course timers.
- 10 Year Operating History – Online traffic schools are a dime a dozen in California. Many of these certified traffic schools open up every year. Trust me – don’t go with the new guy on the block. Go with an established online traffic school that has been around a long time. In addition to a 10-year minimum operating history, I also ensure more than 1,000,000 guinea pigs have gone through the course before you. If you’re still in business with a good reputation after 10 years and 1,000,000 students, it’s a pretty solid bet.
